Neutrals with Gold - Etsy Style

Happy Fall to you!  Are you looking for ways to wear your colorful scarves without looking like a clown?  You don't always have to match the same scarf color to your blouse to keep it chic.  Today I have put together some great Etsy finds to create the perfect Fall outfit.  Inspired by this styled shot from the luxury site Netaporter, with its warm neutrals, cool blacks, and splashes of gold.

This is a great way to wear a colorful scarf against complimentary solids and never look overdone.  Here are my favorite Etsy Finds together that you can create a similar look with!

  1. Butterscotch Dream - hand painted silk scarf in yellows, golds, and browns by MuseSilkPaintings
  2. Brass Ring Band - ultra chic, modern and simple  - by OneWorldTwoHands
  3. Gladiator Cuff - 18K gold, strong, bold, and beautiful - by OSShop
  4. Vintage fawn dotted silk blouse - neutral with tiny, feminine dot print by Silviawan
  5. Vintage wool brown blazer - a great Fall piece over jeans, slacks, or a skirt by Nemres
  6. Black Wool Shorts by YYStudio - alone or paired with sweater tights, these are fantastic
  7. Leather Handbag Tote - with beautiful texture, (I'm drooling) by Dejou
  8. Black leather pumps with gold beads - how hot are these!? by MyGmasCloset
All these pieces are so fantastic on their own and super versatile.  I can see those shoes with a red dress, or the blouse over a white skirt, or jeans even.  This is just one way to wear it all.  Because there are so many other great pieces on Etsy that you can mix and match to create this look, I also created a Treasury with more items to create this similar look as well.  Click HERE to Enjoy!

Aqua Blues - Friday Fashion Finds

So, did you hear? Aqua blues are IN for summer so today I've decided to highlight some incredibly COOL turquoise and teal blue finds to add a fresh splash to your outfit. Mix in bright, beautiful aquas into a summer light wardrobe of sand whites, khakis, and straw totes for a marina ready, amazing summer look!

Aqua Blues - One by One
1. Turquoise from Cynthia Steffe by Pantone Spring/Summer Color Report
This report is chock full of lovely pastels and bright colors that will be important for Spring, and had references to high end designers showing how they've interpreted the hues into their lines

Such a dainty and beautiful set to add a twinkle to your summer outfit. Perfect for day or night, they look like little clusters of cool ocean mist resting lightly against each other - gorgeous!

Hand made, this beautiful ring with intricate swirling organic patterning is anything BUT crap! Love it's bright, happy color and large statement it makes - funky, bold, and beautiful.

4. Proenza Schouler had one of the best Spring fashion shows this year, and this aqua dress is by far one of my favorites! Read the review here.

Bursting floral blooms for Spring/Summer have been carved out of glass in this lovely, romantic ring. Perfectly appropriate in it's aqua hues.. and it's adjustable too! By the way, I just love everything is SoraDesign's shop!

So calm, peaceful, and alive - the composition and transition of aqua hues immediately transports me out of my head and into a beach side daydream - ahhh. This contemporary fine art painting would look amazing in a room adding just a little sprinkle of serenity.

These are SO hot!!! I can see them with rolled chinos and a tank, or a short, silver cocktail dress.. whatever you do, they add a air of sexy, vintage chic to your outfit. Wish I was a size 7.5 so I could strut around in these beauties!

Ok so I know this has nothing to do with fashion, but how cute is this little blue bear?! He is a vintage figurine, hand painted, and super cuddly. He would look so adorable resting on your kitchen windowsill - supervising all the bear treats being prepared! ;)

The easiest way to dress up your outfit is to throw on a scarf. This one is special, hand painted with the color of the ocean sweeping down the sheer georgette silk. So romantic and elegant.

This cuff is just to die for. Add a bit of rock and roll, and ultimate luxury to your bare wrist and loose T for summer. Goes with anything - has a silver lining and is just so hot.

11. Luxury online shopping site Netaporter features this sultry mini dress by Stella McCartney in their fantastic magazine pages.. what a sexy dress for day or night - love the blue!!

Perfect clutch for those summer weddings! Satiny smooth, with an elegant flower detail, I like this clutch because it it so modern and simple, yet ultimately feminine with it's understated scallops on the side. Would look great with a pale blue, white, gold or silver dress.

Hope you enjoyed today's Aqua Blues Friday Fashion Finds! Please help me improve my blog by taking this quick SURVEY! Thank you for your feedback, and cheers to an aqua cool summer!

Spring Color Report - Friday Fashion Finds

Ahhh Spring is finally here.. the birds are tweeting, the sun is shining, and oh yeah, wait a minute, what colors are we supposed to be wearing? According to the Pantone Color Report, there are some really great pastels and brights for Spring that we should definitely explore!

This is part 1 of a series of color reports. Today I have put together 2 outfits appropriate for our warmer days ahead - "Coral Blossoms" and "Sage Adventure".

Coral Blossoms
Warm and uplifting, coral(1) is such a beautiful hue! But how do you wear it without looking like one of the Golden Girls?

Tip #1 - don't wear it in a matching pant suit
Tip #2 - use it sparingly with fresh whites, tans, and gold

You can still be comfortable in the sun in this chic, fresh outfit. Throw on a cotton blouse, your favorite cut offs, and yummy gold lame pumps(5) for a bit of glam. Then grab this heavenly, white linen tote(4) that looks like it can hold about anything, and you are already stylin'. Next, add in a splash of color with this romantic, hand painted scarf, and another pop of WOW with these stunning turquoise/gold cascade earrings(2). Top it all off (especially if you are having a bad hair day) with this amazing Fedora vintage straw hat(3) and voila - you're ready to take on Spring!

Sage Adventure
Cool and sophisticated, sage greens(1) can be so gorgeous if styled the right way. How to wear it without looking frumpy?

Tip #1 - don't wear it as a Snuggie
Tip #2 - style sage green with cinnamon browns, cool blues, lilacs, khaki and gold

Whether you are off on a Southwestern vacation, or just exploring your way through the city's urban jungle, you can still look fantastic and chic with this combination.

Gear up for your journey with this cute little romper(5)and super sweet boots(6). Add a little southwestern flair with this gorgeous wool handbag(3) and bring out the gold with this organic feeling, gold crocheted ring(4) ~ like twisted branches wrapped around your finger! And last but not least, tie it all together with this lovely, hand painted scarf(2) with the cool blues and sages floating together like feathers in the wind. Your adventure awaits - ready, Sage, Go!

Dreamy Florals - Friday Fashion Finds

NY Fashion week is over *whew* and all the reports on the Fall 2010 collections are in! I have to say, wading through all the fun trends were difficult (graffiti, hot pink tights, all black, "non" minimalism, etc..) however I have to say my favorite look was definitely the ephemeral, floral pieces here and there. So beautiful and romantic, and can easily be worn right now for Spring.

Here are a few of my favorites from the Runway shows:

I love how Rodarte's collection feels like Ghost Girls walking through a floral shadow dream. Click here to see the entire show.

Bold, yet pretty - DVF mixes feminine and masculine with the hot bright floral prints and blacks. Click hereto see the entire show.

Possibly my favorite this season - LOVE these ephemeral, brocade like florals! Click here to see the entire show.

I was so happy to see that one of my newest Spring scarves, "Garden Floral Dream" echoes this mood perfectly. It's the perfect accent to add this ephemeral and elegant feeling for both your Spring AND Fall wardrobe. And speaking of putting together gorgeous outfits, here are today's lovely, floral unique treasures from Etsy.

Dreamy Florals
Here is a wonderful Spring outfit which can work for just about any occasion. Let's start with this nutmeg, silk tank(5) and snuggly cinnamon brown cardigan(1). Pair with this flirty gray tweedy skirt(4), your favorite tights, and these HOT to trot, snakeskin heels(7), and you already have a great outfit going. Slide on this wood, ultra sexy, rose ring(3), and toss on this beautiful scarf to tie in the gray, brown, coral, and reds. These brass, brocade cutout earrings(6) and antique tapestry floral vintage necklace(8) add an extra feminine charm to the whole look.
Ready to smell the roses?

Boyfriend Borrower - Friday Fashion Finds

Lately it's been so chilly here in Southern Cali that all I can think about is bundling up, extra covers, and finding my honey to snuggle up next to for some extra warmth! Speaking of which, today's post is about the"borrowed boyfriend jacket" look, which I am "borrowing" from Vogue's Most Wanted section. So while I'm not quite generous enough to let you borrow my guy, you're more than welcome to take this style idea and run!

I love this look! Cool, sophisticated neutrals with a pop of red and super sexy black pumps. Great for the office, or a super chic lunch date. Of course, the high end designer finds are so great, but here is another fantastic way to pull this off, at the same time supporting the hand made artisan and vintage community.

Hot & Cold
I'm just loving this boyfriend style, vintage RL grey blazer(1)! You could wear it over jeans, or dress it up a bit. Of course, I chose to dress it up :) Paired with this lovely, light feather grey pleated skirt(5) and gorgeous, hand painted scarf(4) really gives the look a feminine touch. The large statement ring(2) sparkling is sure to turn heads... it looks like a cosmic pool of ice crystals - how beautiful! Last but not least, throw on these oh, so sexy, snakeskin black heels(6) and luscious red leather clutch(3) to add a little pop of fire into this outfit. My goodness, you'll look so amazing in this, any boyfriend will let you borrow him..err.. I mean his jacket!

Military Mix - Friday Fashion Finds

This Spring, one of my favorite trends is the utility or Military jacket look. I love these rugged jackets ~ they are not only fashion savvy, but super comfortable and casual too. You can wear it out to dinner over a dress, belted with a skirt, or slung over your jeans for lazy afternoon of lounging and shopping. Here are a few ideas on how to pull off this look while still keeping it sophisticated and feminine.

Boho Chic

Who says mixing and matching patterns has to make you look like a clown? The black, white, khakis and reds make up an elegant AND fun color story here. Love the contrast of the boho prints with the modern and hard edged accessories. This tribal printed vintage black and white dress(3) is is so cute and looks great with this fantastic army jacket(1). Gorgeous silver earrings(4) reflect the geometric pattern of the printed dress(3), and would go with anything. Heat up the outfit with pops of warm reds by tossing on a hand painted silk scarf(2), incredible statement square block ring(5) (which I'm drooling over), and these oh so sexy, Italian vintage boots(6). Top it all off with this super fun, bohemian camel tote(7) that looks like it could fit just about everything in it!

March on

Stand up straight! Put those shoulders back! Why? Because you'll look simply smashing in this smart little black marching band jacket(1) and amazingly versatile double threat tank dress(3). Twist up this warm and sophisticated, hand painted silk crepe scarf(4) and charming little vintage drummer pin(5). I just love this silver and gold, square stacked ring(2) (and again this is such a great piece ~ could go with any outfit). Complete this stylish look with these great riding boots(7) and phenomenally crafted, gorgeous tote(6). Now you're all set to march on and on... to the next look...

Flying High

Look up, up in the sky! Is it a bird, a plane? No, it's an amazing and airborne loving outfit that every girl MUST have this season! Let's talk about this yummy, military inspired outfit, shall we? This awesome vintage air force jacket(1) really sets the tone. Throw it on over a fun and sexy little heart breaker T(5) with a pair of rockin 90's D&G jeans(4) and we have a cool, casual ensemble as it is. Add in this super cute winged bomber ring(3) and cool vintage, Ray-ban aviators(8) to add to this winged bombshell beautiful outfit. Bring in more feminine touches with a hand painted, charcoal roses silk scarf(2), and add a bit of silvery shine with pretty silver flats(6) and smashing, metallic hobo bag(7). Presto ~ you're a pilot's dream come true. :)
